The PubJury Rating System
The legendary rating system used on this site is explained in detail over here.
Please note that when rating a pub, you do not have to rate on every attribute. For example, if you only wish to review the food on offer, just choose a 5 star rating for the 'Food' attribute and leave the other ratings blank.
Also note that, for any pub, only one set of ratings will be counted. If you come back and re-rate a pub, only your new rating will count. This way, if you change your mind about a pub or if it changes management and goes downhill/uphill, you can choose a new rating that fits.
BeerTokens
PubJury members are awarded for their contributions though the BeerToken system. BeerTokens are awarded when:
- You add an comment to a pub (1 point)
- You add a rating to a pub (1 point)
- You add a comment AND rating to a pub (2 points)
- You add a photo to a pub (3 points)
- You add a photo to a pub which doesn't have a photo already (4 points - we want to encourage people to make sure every pub listing has a photo!)
- You add a pub to the database which isn't already up there (6 points)
- You add an event or menu to a pub listing (2 points)
- You complete your profile information (5 points)
BeerTokens allow you to increase your rank on the site and gain more privileges.
In the future, you may also be able to exchange your BeerTokens for cold, hard, beer at pubs near you. Watch this space!
Ranks
Gaining BeerTokens allows you to increase your status on the site and gives you more and more privileges. More senior members will be able to comment and add photos instantly without having to go through the moderation system.
Member ranks will be displayed alongside any of their comments.
Senior members will also be able to apply for badges to adorn their profile page and their avatars.
The number of BeerTokens required to attain each rank is as follows:
| Rank | BeerTokens Required | Description |
| Newbie | 0 | |
| Apprentice Pub Juror | 10 | Lose the 'newbie' stigma! |
| Pub Juror | 50 | Can post comments/reviews anonymously |
| Senior Pub Juror | 100 | TBD |
| Grand Pub Juror | 200 | TBD |
| Chief Pub Juror | 300 | TBD |
| High Chief Pub Juror | 500 | TBD |

Favourites
This feature is only available to PubJury members.
On each pub details page there will be an "Add to Favourites" link at the top of the page. Clicking this will add the pub to your list of favourites, available from your Member Profile page.
When you next log into your account, you'll be able to see if any new photos or comments have been added to your favourite pubs and have a quick shortcut to view these new updates.
DrinkingBuddies
This feature is only available to PubJury members.
You can add members as your friends to give you quick access to their profile pages and easy ways to send messages to them. You can also share a pub crawl with them and arrange meeting times etc if you'd like to go for a drink with them.
MicroBadges
This feature is only available to PubJury members.
Microbadges are awarded to PubJury members for exceptional contributions, high quality reviews and photos, or general involvement in the PubJury site. More details to come soon.
Pubs I've Been To
This feature is only available to PubJury members.
Show everyone which pubs you've phisically visited by clicking on the "I've been here!" link at the top of each pub details page. Your name will be added to the details page and a list of recent pub visits you've told us about will be proudly displayed on your profile page.
Additionally, whenever you make a comment or add a rating to a pub, we'll assume you've been there and add you to the list!
